As terribly as it is to see a wonderful game idea being converted into something for the mainstream, it seems to be the general rule of gaming companies nowadays. New company taking over the project however always means completely new direction. Originally posted by Loboramdk:Unfortunately I can mainly only say negative things about AoW-Planetfall. The mod and my settings (12 teams, no water, no victory conditions, pre-made leaders no matter if they have production penalty etc.) make it extremely hard to beat AI, because vanilla AI is too limited and too easy. You are missing my point, I am not trying to play worse than I can. Setup a game where you can only have one city and never anymore. I use your "winning strategy" all the time, even when I have 40+ colonies because there is no enough cosmite to build anything better and I am still last in military ranking. I had my own tier 4 armies with deck out mods that's where all the cosmite was going. So I just started pumping out tier 2 mooks at 4 a turn from every city to kamikaze into enemy full stacks with multiple tier 4s with tier 3 mods. I was resorting to this cause I had such a massive credit bank and not enough cosmite to use it up for good modded units. You just need to throw enough bodies at the problem. The winning strategy here is numbers no matter how strong you can get you can't become invincible permanently. I KNOW FOR A FACT THIS IS INCORRECT because god bless my tier 2s with ZERO MODS holding their own against tier 3 and 4 with fully decked out tier 3 mods. I've never seen modded tier 4 units with vanilla AI (I played without mods my first thousand of hours). So given enough time the AI will build tier 3/4 armies and mod all of them looking at a Celestian AI army now with Multiple Fully Modded Star Guides and Ascended Teacher with tier 3 mods.Yes, after turn 100+, while my largest map games with 12 opponents with vanilla AI last about 60-70 turns :) Granted this is a game I'm playing with a friend whose just starting to play more heavy strategy games, so its really late game, and there hasn't been much fighting. Me: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FORGOT HOPPERHOUNDS EXIST. Split units to avoid acid splash two hexes away from one another. does it have wings? and how many are there? Claws? Beat the game with 12 AI's in under 5 turns Guide someone to play the game for you using their dscriptions while they have never played the game before. What I'm getting at is difficulty is one way to enjoy the game, but comp stomping, making the coolest unit from scratch, or just watching an empire progress is still valid options. Setup a game where you are Psynumbra and must use Psynumbra units against only CELESTIAN units who are immune to your main gimmick. Start the game and don't DO ANYTHING for 30 turns. Well technically there is an infinite number of ways to make the game "Harder": Originally posted by sandman25dcsss:Assume you are playing as Assemby who don't have a way to destroy armour/shields for double fun.
